I absolutely loved all the opportunity at Chelsea College to explore other media’s other than the one we studied. All though I’m a textile design student I could go into the other studios for laser cutting, wax molding, wood working, pottery making, metal crafting . . .whatever and whenever I felt like trying another art form. Back in America we’d have to be registered for these courses to use the facilities. Yet having this access at Chelsea really allows the students to explore their creativity as we should be doing in art school.
One facility I got to utilize was the photography studio. Once I was done with my final collection I took a few of my friends into the photo studio and had them model my favorite pieces. The studio was so great with an amazing technician that gave us a brief tutorial and helped us with the professional lighting set up. Seeing my collection modeled on real people in high-resolution just brought so much life to the pieces.
VOILA! The final collection
